The documentation of the UltraScale+ GTH AMI Kit R1p1 contains a "Simulation BER Contour Mask" for GTH receivers that "applies to the defined BER requirements". Do the given values apply to GTH receivers at any operating mode, e.g. regardless whether operating at 2GT/s, 8GT/s, or at 16GT/s?

Hi @treuschel_bosch ,
Yes, the mask applies to any GT configuration, i.e. any line rate.

@jhua, can you please give an example on how this static mask applies to different BER?

The mask applies to any BER of your choice. You would target the "BER" in your simulator. In your simulator options, you can plot the BER contour at your BER of interest. For example, in ADS, in the eye_probe options, you will be able to plot a BER contour at different BERs. Say if your BER target is -12, you will plot the BER contour of BER-12, then compare the BER contour with our mask. If it meets our mask, then the design will meet BER of -12. If your BER target is -15, then you would compare the same mask with the BER contour of -15.
