Using NIDRU to allow GTX support for various protocols

Firstly, kudos to the developers of NIDRU for their great implementation!

 

I have read xapp1240 and would appreciate if someone could confirm the following:

  1. Can NIDRU be used to pass OC-3 (155.52Mbps) or OC-12 (622.08Mbps) through a Kintex-7 GTX whose reference clock is 156.25MHz?
  2. We are currently using a propietary OC-24c protocol (1244.16Mbps) through a Kintex-7 GTX with a reference clock of 311.04MHz. Can NIDRU be used to pass standard 1000BASE-X (1250Mbps) through the same GTX with 311.04MHz reference clock?

GG>> yes

 

  1. We are currently using a proprietary OC-24c protocol (1244.16Mbps) through a Kintex-7 GTX with a reference clock of 311.04MHz. Can NIDRU be used to pass standard 1000BASE-X (1250Mbps) through the same GTX with 311.04MHz reference clock?

GG>> yes. You could for example ask to the GTX to oversample the incoming data 4x. this means that the GTX datarate is about 5Gbps or higher. the higher is the sampling rate, the better is the jitter tolerance.
