accessing DRP registers using iBERT example design

Jump to solution

With an iBERT 'example design' for the xc7z045ffg900-2 (and another for the xc7vx690tffg1761-2), how are DRP registers accessed?

Can debug ports be controlled?

How are de-emphasis, swing, CTLE, Rx gain, etc  controlled with the example design?

Thanks,

mrpetep1

You can manually read and write all of the IBERT ports and drp attributes through the properties window of a particular transceiver.  UG908 page 275 shows the Serial I/O Links window or see below.  You can see in that view where you can change the TX_PATTERN.  There are similar columns to the right that will allow you to change the amplitude, emphasis and a few other common settings.  You can also add columns by clicking on the plus sign.  Alternately you can change values in the properties window.

These registers are accessed over JTAG from the IBERT GUI.   Pretty much all these parameters can be controlled from the IBERT GUI, which is built into the Vivado Hardware manager.   If you want to access them from your design, it will take some effort, or a fresh design from the GTX/GTH Wizard.
