using usb 3.0 cable instead of optic

Dear Expert.

We will use the USB3.0 Cable instead of optic at 5Gbps.

We are using the physical layer without logical layer. It means that we are using the GTH  for connecting to USB 3.0 Cable.

I'm worried about the impedance and electrical spec and so on. and there was no standard on the GTP Wizard.

Is there any one who have experience on the USB3.0 application??

Thanks,

Sun

I assume that you are not actually trying to be USB3 compliant.

Do you mean you just want to use the cable, or do you want to use USB3 cable drivers?

If the former (i.e. you are just using the cable), the impedance is supposed to be 90ohm (differential), which is close enough to the Xilinx transceiver impedance.  You will need AC coupling capacitors on at least one end of the link.

Oh, and this might be of interest to you:
