The "I" marking

Dear Sirs,

I have just started my work as Purchasing manager and a question about Xilinx original products came up.

The previous buyer, who already resigned from our company, purchased parts at the local market with the strange "I" marking inside at the end of Device number. I know that "I" stands for Industrial, and normally parts without any marking at all are industrial type. But it is the first time that I see this marking at a different level with other letters of device number.

I would be grateful for your to comments different level of letters is possible within original Xilinx lots (it may be that parts overcame additional testing?) and whether the product is original according to its lot number.

Thanks very much in advance!

If parts are not purchased from a Xilinx authorized distributor,

We cannot and will not support you.  Parts may have been damaged, miss-handled, or may just be remarked scrap commoercial parts (that is how their scams work -- take a scrap part, remard it as the more expensive version, and sell it to unsispecting customers).

Thanks for the pictures, as we keep a rogue's gallery of scammers,

Hi Austin,

Thanks for your reply.

So you confirm that they are scammer parts?

Hi @anna799

As you said these parts are not purchased from a Xilinx authorized distributor hence we can not guarantee if these are genuine products.

I have warned you what the scam is (take scrap, and re-mark it),

That is our policy:  we support our distribution partners, and we cannot say anything about parts through un-authorized channels.
