I have several circuit cards in a legacy system that make use of the obsolete XC3042. I plan to redesign these cards using a 7 series FPGA. Unfortunately, the schematic diagrams that were used to program the XC3042s were lost. All that I have are the burn files for the configuration PROMs.
I came across a old paper suggesting that, while the configuration data format for the XC3000 series was proprietary, Xilinx was once willing to share the details with researchers who signed NDAs.
Is it still possible to get detailed information on the interpretation of the XC3000 series configuration data from Xilinx?
