XCF16P JTAG Revision erase

Jump to solution

Hi, I have a board that contains a XCF16P in a JTAG chain. I follow XAPP972 to upgrade Revision 1 of my firmware (Pag 14-21).

It works ok in most of my boards, but I find a trouble in some of them: when I erase the revision (0x00EC) I wait until ISC-DEFAULT register tells "internal erase ready" (bit 2 = '1'), and then I read bits 1 and 0 and if they are '10' I have a success. Is it correct?

Well, In some boards, I find that erase operation ends with a success, but flash block is not blank. If I repeat all the process flash erasing is a success again and flash block is blank.

any idea?

thanks

You coudl add a Black Check after the erase to verify that it has succeeded. is that an option?

I don't know why it fails, but with a blank check I realise that it is failing, and I can re-erase.

Thanks
