AXI BFM Simulation Error with VCS

Hi, all

There was a problem when I try to simulation with AXI BFM, the AXI BFM is an secureip.

I run the folowing command

vcs +v2k -lca -R /eda/xilinx/ise14.1/ISE/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/cdn_axi3_master_bfm.vp

Then there was an error message:

Error-[STASKEC_USF] Undefined system function

/eda/xilinx/ise14.1/ISE/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/cdn_axi3_master_bfm.vp, 1

what should I do?

Re: AXI BFM Simulation Error with VCS

Hello,

I am not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish with calling out the individual secure IP model, but there are directions on how to use these library models in the Synthesis and Simulation Guide:

http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_1/sim.pdf

The instructions for Secure IP are located on page 170/171 and show that you use the -f command line option to reference these libraries.

OK, hope this helps,

Scott

Re: AXI BFM Simulation Error with VCS

I have the same problem.

Was the original author able to resolve it?

I am trying to simulate a design, axi_master_bfm_v.v, which references cdn_axi4_master_bfm from the secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs library.

I followed the guide and I'm using this command:

vcs +v2k -f $XILINX/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/axi_bfm_cell.list.f \
-y $XILINX/verilog/src/unisims -y $XILINX/verilog/src/xilinxcorelib \
+incdir+$XILINX/verilog/src +libext+.v $XILINX/verilog/src/glbl.v \
-lca -Mupdate -R axi_master_bfm_v.v

When I run the above, I keep getting this error message:

"Parsing design file '/gsa/ausgsa-p14/00/a3synapse/tool/xilinx_tools/14.2/ISE_DS/ISE/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/cdn_axi3_master_bfm.vp'
Error-[STASKEC_USF] Undefined system function
/gsa/ausgsa-p14/00/a3synapse/tool/xilinx_tools/14.2/ISE_DS/ISE/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/cdn_axi3_master_bfm.vp, 1

...

What am I doing incorrectly here?  Does the BFM library need special permissions to run (even though I have the .vp file in the $XILINX/secureip/vcs/axi_bfm_vcs/ directory?)

Did you resolve this issue? We are facing the same problem.

Re: AXI BFM Simulation Error with VCS

Please try adding the following option to vcs command.

-load $XILINX/lib/lin64/libxil_vcs.so:xilinx_register_systf

Depending on the simulation mode (32-bit or 64bit), you may replace the library path with $XILINX/lib/lin/libxil_vcs.so:xilinx_register_systf

Re: AXI BFM Simulation Error with VCS

Be sure that you are using a current version of gcc, when using this vcs switch. libxil_vcs.so requires GLIBCXX_3.4.15

I just used gcc version 4.8.2, and it is working.

Set your PATH to point to your gcc executable, and LD_LIBRARY_PATH to point to the corresponding library.
