Current status of the problem to determine the code coverage of VHDL code in a Vivado environment

Hi all,

I have the following questions:

What is the current state of the problem in a Vivado environment to determine code coverage of VHDL code?

When will there be a solution for this under Vivado?

What alternative cost-effective options are currently available in general?

What are the current alternative cost effective ways to work with VUNIT at the same time?

Thank you for your time and any help is appreciated.

Vunit works with ghdl which is a free and open source vhdl simulator.

Active hdl has code coverage and works with vunit, but is not free, but generally considered the cheapest paid for vhdl simulator. It has excellent vhdl support being the first simulator to support vhdl 2019

Hello Richard,

thank you very much for your answer. That helped me. However, I would also like to get an answer to the following questions:

What is the current state of the problem in a Vivado environment to determine code coverage of VHDL code?

When will there be a solution for this under Vivado directly by Xilinx?

Thanks & regards
Andreas
