Custom signal name

Hi all

On the waveform view you can select the signal name view between three values (long, short, custom)

How can i put a limit on the custom name length ? because i have large number of hierarchial levels !

Thanks in advance

Re: Custom signal name

You can "rename" the signal by double-clicking the object name and then entering a new name.

Then changing name to Custom will display the custom name given to the signal when renamed.

Re: Custom signal name

But i have a lot of components containing a lot of signal. Do i have to do this for each signal individualy ? This will be very exhausting. IS there a tcl command that can do this from the console ?

Re: Custom signal name

There's no direct Tcl command to "rename" the object.

You can only give a custom name with -name arg in "wave add" Tcl command.

e.g.

wave add /tb/UUT/data -name <custom_name>

Once you've finished, you can save the wave configuration file (.wcfg) and load it next time when you run simulation.
