Are you running with Vivado Simulator or 3rd party simulators?

For the latter, make sure you have successfully pre-compiled simulaiton libraries and load all necessary libraries (including IP libs) in simulation. You can try to launch simulation from within Vivado GUI and take a look at the auto-generated simulation scripts for reference.

If starting with Versal take a look at our Versal Design Process Hub and our Versal Blogs.

I'm running Vivado Simulator, I'm running everything from Vivado GUI. Pre-compiling the simulation librarys is for 3rd party simulators from my understanding?
