Does Xilinx Spartan 6 support NAND flash?

Jump to solution

According to the datasheet, The Spartan 6 family has

Broad third-party SPI (up to x4) and NOR flash support
Feature rich Xilinx Platform Flash with JTAG

However, I don't quite understans if it supports NAND flash?
I want to build and FPGA + ARM platform, I was thinking that each component has their own
flash.
How do you think, should I use just one NAND flash for both FPGA and processor access, which means FPGA
configuration file (.mcs) is also stored in the non volatile Flash memory, at power up, ARM processor automatically configures FPGA?

Is NAND flash compatible with Xilinx Spartan 6?
Anyone could help me please, Thank you.

Gladys

NAND flash cannot be used for configuring the FPGA, but you can use NAND flash in your design.
