Drive Sub-LVDS with Spartan 6 w/o external resistors?

Hi,

I need to drive a Sub-LVDS device (VID 200-600mV, VCM 0.6V-1.5V) by a Spartan 6 and would like to not use any external resistors.

The device also has several 1.8V single-ended inputs that must be driven by the FPGA, thus I'm looking for a solution with a VCCO of 1.8V, so that the same I/O Bank can implement both Sub-LVDS and single-ended outputs (all other banks are already in use).

Is there any chance? Perhaps using LVDS_25 standard and supplying the bank by 1.8V anyway???

You might try differential SSTL18 with internal series resistors. Spec-wise diff SSTL will barely meet the LVDS 200mV VID minimum. The VCM will be around 0.9V, which will work.

 

Caveat: This is off the top of my head without checking the details, so buyer beware!
