Spartan 3E Multi-Output Single Input problem

Hi,

a few werk ago  i bought a spartan 3e dev Board from waveshare with Xilinx ISE12.2.

Since then i realized a few Projects (only in Software Not send the stream to

the Board). But for the newest project i am trying to connect 7 latches with an adder through a Common Bus.

And i get a few error msgs saying: Too Many Outputs connected to One Input.

So i tried tri-state buffers. Nothing works. I Can Provide .sch-file and error-file (edited) if needed.

thanks

M.

Hey @koloss90

I Can Provide .sch-file and error-file (edited) if needed.

That would be helpful!

Best,

Herbert

Re: Spartan 3E Multi-Output Single Input problem

Now this is much clearer ...

ERROR:Xst:528 - Multi-source in Unit <CPU_2> on signal <XLXN_19<7>>; this signal is connected to multiple drivers.

Tells you that you are trying to drivea signal with more than one input.

I.e. you are basically creating a short circuit of several outputs on a single wire (which is not a good idea :).

You need/want to combine those different outputs in some way, for example through a gate (AND, OR, etc).

Hope that helps,

Herbert

Re: Spartan 3E Multi-Output Single Input problem

Hi,

i'm sorry, but this doesn't help me in any way. For that reason Tri-State buffers were invented. But if this is the way those problems are solved in fpga designs, i'm happy with that. Thanks a lot.
