Spartan 6 AES and fallback configuration

Jump to solution

Hi,

in the UG380 p125 it says

"Fallback is disabled if AES is enabled and for Slave configuration mode"

So if there is a good image, it becomes corrupt some how; Will it ever try and load a different image whilst AES is enabled? Or does this mean the card must be shipped back to the factory for an update instead of a field update?

Cheers

Yes,

Fallback is considered another vector for attack, which makes the part less secure, so if a secure configuration fails, that is what it is supposed to do:  prevent an attacker from compromising the device and its security.
