We have a Spartan 6 - XC6SLX45, and we don't have any problem with configuration part of the FPGA. However, we don't figure out how we can write/read data from ROM.
Before Spartan 6, we use Nexys and we didn't face with any problem, it was really easy; but now we read manual and it couldn't work.
We need your help, what do u suggest?

Perhaps you could enlighten us on what ROM you're connecting to the Spartan 6 and how? Are you using a development board or a board of your own design? Spartan 6 doesn't have any ROM built into the chip itself.

I'm sorry, we're new in FPGA. I mean in Nexys board, we have Flash and JTAG mode, and via ADEPT we can easily store data in flash. On the other hand, we don't do the same thing with Sartan-6. I hope we're clear.

Not really. You still haven't said what you have connected to the Spartan 6. Is it SPI flash? Is this your own board or an evaluation board?

Are you using EDK tools?
In that case please follow the below steps
1, Refer to Flash datasheet to get a correct CFI Query command, and then verify if CFI Query is successful.
2. If yes, refer to the write command, send the write command first and then you mwr to write the data, the read data can be read out via mrd directly.
3. If no, confirm the xps_mch_emc core hardware connection and board connection.
