multiple UART

Jump to solution

Hi,

a the moment I'm using a sp601 eva board with one serial USB UART port, but I want to move on to a custom FPGA board and I wanted to ask if it's possible to use more then just one serial USB UART port. I think it shouldn't be a problem, or are the RX, TX, CTS, RTS pins restricted like the bitstream program pin?

Probably I won't need more then one actually, since the XPS UART Lite is full duplex and can transmit an receive simultaneously.

There are no dedicated UART pins, so you can have as many UARTs as you can fit into the FPGA logic and map to the IO pins.
