Re: spartan 3e cable detection failed

In your post you mentioned that "IMPACT showing cable detection failure for my digilent spartan 3E board.  I  was using another diglent board before and it is detecting cable".

The above input indicating me that there could not be problem a in cable or cable driver. There could be some problem in board configuration part hardware. Please verify  jumpers and switch settings as per user guide. Also check supply voltages as per data sheet recommendations.

If possible probe JTAG signals.

Re: spartan 3e cable detection failed

Hi Kodali,

thank you. I checked jumper settings, it iscorrect. I compared the log file of cable sucessfullyconnecting and not connecting spartan 3e boards. Where I noticed in cable not connecting board showing " write cmdbuffer failed 20000015 " error. What is the reason for that? I am attaching both log files here with. Can you Plaese have a look on it

thanks

kathy

Re: spartan 3e cable detection failed

This error occurs when the USB circuitry has some problem (Probable root cause). If you have spare board please try to configure another board to confirm this.

As a workaround, if possible try to use the JTAG flying leads to configure the FPGA.

Re: spartan 3e cable detection failed

Hi THIYAGARAJAN,

From the snapshot, I can say that the issue is cable driver installation. Reinstall cable drivers. As mentioned in the message, see the answer record: http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/22648.html

Thanks,
Vinay
