Compatible SPI Flash for Spartan 6 device

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I am currently working with Spartan 6 device : XC6SLX9-2CSG225I .

The SPI flash device selected for the Spartan 6 FPGA device is W25Q80DVSNIG  .

  • Is the SPI flash  - W25Q80DVSNIG  compatible with Spartan 6 or has become obsolete.
  • If it has become obsolete, suggest an alternate SPI flash compatible for the Spartan 6 device - XC6SLX9-2CSG225I.
  • The SPI Flash compatible with Spartan device shall have support in Impact also. Is my understanding correct?

As per https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_7/pim_r_supported_spi_bpi_proms.htm this flash should be supported with Spartan-6 and also can be programmed in iMPACT.
