How to initiate reconfiguration from SPI flash using JTAG commands?

Is there a JTAG command sequence I can send to Spartan-6 in order to reconfigure it from the attached SPI flash? E.g. using JPROGRAM instruction followed by DONE bit polling in the status register using BYPASS instruction?

I actually tried my original idea and it works: send JPROGRAM instruction and then poll INIT and DONE bits in the status register using BYPASS instruction.

Re: How to initiate reconfiguration from SPI flash using JTAG commands?

Hello @cioma,

IPROG is the another command that is used in the process of reconfiguration.

Its similar as pressing the on board PROGRAM_B button; the only difference is its internal.

Yes its not a specific JTAG command but you can use it even in JTAG mode of configuration.

You can go through  UG380 chapter 7 for more information about IPROG.

Thank you.
