How to build new design from existing design without resynthesis.

Hi,

How to build new design from existing design without resynthesis. For example FPGA is configured as an adder with input size of 10-bits, how to reconfigure the adder logic running on the FPGA to accept input of  size 15-bits without resynthesis.

Simply put, you can't.  Any time you change the functionality of your design, you will need to re synthesize.  About the only things you can change without synthesizing are location constraints (pin numbers) and timing constraints.

@khyam This is not possible. Once your bit file is ready you cannot change the existing functionality of the design without re-synth.

You can do something like this,
In the RTL you can have a input port which can be a dip switch on the board and you can make your design to work in different ways based on the dip switch(This does not require resynth ).
