ISE RTL Flat vs Hierarchical view

Hello,

I have a big project done with ISE. When I expand the top level block of the schematic, it expands everything down to the low level detail without showing the next hierarchical level. It is thus impossible to manage.

Here is what I get when I double click the top level block:

TopLevelSchematic.png-------------->  FlatSchematic.png

Here is an example (from another project) of what I would like to see:

Is there a setting that makes the switch between the two display modes?

Thanks,

Catalin

Re: ISE RTL Flat vs Hierarchical view

@catalineacsu,

In the synthesis process properties, Try to set the keep hierarchy switch to Yes,

This way your hierarchy will be maintained and you will see your desired view.

Syed

Re: ISE RTL Flat vs Hierarchical view

Hi @catalineacsu,

You can use keep_hierarchy as either soft or yes to get the desired view.

If you want the hierarchy to be maintained even in implementation then use keep_hierarchy as yes else use soft.

Thanks,
Arpan

Re: ISE RTL Flat vs Hierarchical view

Thank you all for the replies. Unfortunately I already tried this option before posting the message. See below my settings.

Attached is the project (no secret, as it is an open source one). I would really appreciate if you can look further into this.
