Remove the "target" tag from xdc

Jump to solution

Hello,

My env - Win7, Vivado 2018.3

I get a warning message as:

[Constraints 18-5210] No constraints selected for write.
Resolution: This message can indicate that there are no constraints for the design, or it can indicate that the used_in flags are set such that the constraints are ignored. This later case is used when running synth_design to not write synthesis constraints to the resulting checkpoint. Instead, project constraints are read when the synthesized design is opened.

Is it due to my setting of the ac701_ethernet_rgmii_example_design.xdc as "target"?

xdc.jpg

How can I remove the "target" tag?

Hi, @gin_xil ,

The XDC file with "Target" Tag means that the new involved constraints will be saved in this XDC file.

So you should have a XDC file with "Target" Tag, which can be read & write.

If the issue still occurs, you can try to recreate the project.

Hi, @gin_xil ,

Does the current file have the Write permission?

You can try to create a new XX.xdc and set it as "Target" constraint.

To remove the "target" tag: set_property target_constrs_file "" [current_fileset -constrset]

@hongh,

Does the current file have the Write permission?

I don't know.

But I removed that xdc and re-added the xdc and the "target" tag was gone.

I re-Implemented my design by that Warning with "No constraints selected for write" still remains. What shall I do?
