Vivado run Error

Hello Sir.

    When I use Vivado (version 2016.2) run in GUI mode (My Platform is Centos-6.8),  I get a Fork failed,  just below:

    -----Fork failed : Cannot allocate memory.

    -----Application Exception: Fork failed

  How can I resolve it?

Could it be you don't have enough memory in your computer? and/or a large design?

Monitor 'top' during the run, and watch the usage.

Hi @huyongwei , 

You are using very old verison of Vivado. I will recommend to use latest version of it Vivado 2019.1. It may possible that this crash is been fixed with this latest version. 

And you are using unsupported CentOS version with Vivado 2016.2. Use CentOS 6.7 or 7.1 (64-bit).

 

Another point is - If you have big array/memory index in your RTL then try to reduce it. It might possible that it will resolve this memory crash.
