.bit file problem

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am using Vivado 2015.2 and after generating bit stream and exporting the hardware I am unable to find .bit file.

I am getting the error as below,

[xilinx.com:ip:processing_system7:5.5 1] design_1_processing_system7_0_0: The Zynq BFM requires an AXI BFM license to run. Please ensure that you have purchased and setup the AXI BFM license prior to running simulation with this block. Please contact your Xilinx sales office for more information on purchasing this license

Can anyone help me to solve this issue.

Thanks,

Devdutt

Hi @devdutt09,

I have changed the Strategy to 'Vivado Implementation Defaults' in the implementation setting menu, and generated the bitstream successfully.

Can you actually run the 'Generate Bitstream' step and see the *.bit file before exporting the hardware?

The error you report suggests that you instantiated Zynq BFM (Bus Functional Model) in your block design. It is used for simulation only, not implementation.

Hi @devdutt09,

Well... The error you have is pretty clear... You need a license to use the BFM...

But the Zynq BFM is only for simulation. You need to remove it from your design if you want to generate a bitstream.

FYI: From 2017.1, the BFM are been replaced by the Verification IP (VIP) which does not need to be removed generating a bitstream.

Florent

Hi  ,

In my design I have only Zynq, no other ipcores are there and couple of days back I was using that time it was working fine and from yesterday all of a sudden I am facing this sort of warning,

I checked in Xilinx website I didn't find any licence for the particular Zynq BFM. If you have found license can you please forward the link.

Thanks,

Regards,

Devdutt

Hi @devdutt09,

I don't think you can still get a license for the BFM (as it as been replaced by the VIP).

Try to reset the output-product of you bd and generate them

Hi  ,

Ok, so what to do if we are still using vivado 2015.2?

I tried but still facing the same problem.

Re: .bit file problem

Hi @devdutt09,

I cannot reproduce the BFM issue. And if you run synthesis->implementation->generate bitsream you will have a .bin file create under project_1\project_1.runs\impl_1.

Then to create a .bit file (to boot from SD Card?), you need to use bootgen in SDK
