core dump

Hi,

I get this core dump during synthesis with Vivado 2017.3

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start Final Netlist Cleanup
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tcmalloc: large alloc 1118347264 bytes == 0x529132000 @ 0x7f2a085a963f 0x7f29c9c82760
/home/cad/tools/xilinx/Vivado/2017.3/bin/loader: line 179: 30849 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$RDI_PROG" "$@"
Parent process (pid 30849) has died. This helper process will now exit

Appreciate help.

Regards,

Shreyas

Re: core dump

you'll have to provide more information than this error message..   What OS are you using?   What computer hardware?   How much RAM is it using?    Can you provide the source code that causes this crash?     Do you have a simple test case that demonstrates the crash?     Does Vivado 2017.4 also crash?      Fixing this bug may require a significant amount of work to track down the exact place in the code where it's crashing,  so providing as much information as possible will help greatly.

From the error message, it crashed after trying to allocate a bit over 1 Gigabyte of memory, which is a pretty substantial chunk of memory.   How much ram is installed on your machine?
