does IP verification need synplify synthesis?

Jump to solution

Our company use ku115 for digital IP verification. Now we use vivado2016.3 synthesis the IP.

As I know, synplify is better than ise, but I don't how vivado perform.

Do we need synplify for synthesis?

I use vivado 2016.3 and ku115. I tested my IP in synplify 2016, not much better than vivado after implemented.

So not need synplify synthesis.

@luoyanghero

Is this a Xilinx IP? If yes, then you need to use Vivado synthesis for synthesizing the IP,  because the RTL source can include encrypted files. To use these IPs in a third party synthesis flow, the synthesized netlist can be exported from the Vivado tool in a suitable format for use in the third-party synthesis project

If this is not a Xilinx Ip and you would like to use synplify only then from vivado 2016.3 release notes, I see synplify L2016.03 is supported:
