Clock period of an Out Of Context IP

Hello,

A design I'm working with has a common clock FIFO that has been generated as Out Of Context.

Inside the auto generated XDC file I found this command:

create_clock -period 10 -name clk [get_ports clk]

How did the IP generator determine this frequency?

How can I change this value?

Re: Clock period of an Out Of Context IP

OOC , has to be generated with a clock frequency,
so the current tools, guess at 100 MHz..
Yes I know....

In theory,
xdc rules are position dependent, and the OOC xdc is read first,
so your clock constraint in your xdc over rides the OOC number.
so you don't need to change the OOC xdc file.

this allows OOC stuff to be used in multiple projects,
but des cause confusion.
