SYSREF signal on RFSoC

Jump to solution

Hello,

Can the SYSREF signal used in converter synchronization be disabled after the synchronization procedure is complete?  This is the recommended use case for JESD-204B, but it is not clear whether that can be done with the RFSoC.

Thanks

Doug

It should be possible to gate the sysref after the tile synchronisation is complete.

In fact in 2018.3 we are adding the capability to do a real time update to the mixer settings and where there are multiple chips are involved the sysref must be stopped during the update and then pulsed so that the updates are applied to all the mixers simultaneously

Any chance we can get a copy of this code in advance of 2018.3.  Currently, we are in the process of synchronizing all the ADCs and not always getting the results we expect when decimation is greater than 1.  Documentation of the RFDC is quite limited, so we are flying somewhat blind.

It would be great if you provided an example which configured the ADCs and mixers on all tiles and then synchronized them.  That example would go a long way.

Does the XRFdc_ResetNCOPhase() routine wait for Sysref before resetting?  We want to reset all the mixers and the NCO at the same time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best Regards,

Bill

Hi Bill,

Realtime NCO update is not implemented in software.
It is a fabric interface that does a fast nco update by taking control of the Drp port.

There is an MTS example that comes with the driver this should align your tiles.
