Where are design files for XAPP 1305?

Jump to solution

Hello,

I am trying to implement Ethernet connectivity on a Trenz TE0808 board with a Zynq+ XCZU9EG-1FFVC900 ES2 through the PS GEM EMIO similar to a recent Xilinx post below:

http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/PS+and+PL+based+Ethernet+in+Zynq+MPSoC#discussion

The wiki mentions using design files from XAPP1305 however I do not see a place to download the XAPP1305 files. Can someone help me locate the XAPP1305 files?

Thanks!

Adam

XAP1305, containing a link to the reference design project has been released:

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp1305-ps-pl-based-ethernet-solution.pdf

Here's the direct link to download the ethernet reference design:

https://www.xilinx.com/cgi-bin/docs/ctdoc?cid=bigfile;d=xapp1305-ps-pl-based-ethernet-solution.zip

hs,

Thanks for the update. Is it possible to download a preliminary version of the xapp1305 design files?

Or is there another example for connecting a PS GEM to an Ultrascale+ Zynq I could use to help get my SFP connector up and running?

Thanks,

Adam

Hello,

We would like to try communication using the SFP connector of ZCU 102.
We connect and use PS-GEM and IP (1G / 2.5G Ethernet PCS / PMA).
Will it be published in early February?

Please let me know that.

Thanks

Hi,

Any good news about the availability of those design files?

I have the similar problem that I hope to resolve basing on XAPP1305 example.

Regards,

Wojtek

Thanks,

Do you know if the LwIP 1.8 files have been released and how to obtain them?

The XAPP1305/XAPP1306 wiki states:

http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/x3.%20XAPP1306-3.2%20Building%20LWIP%20Images

"

- Add the lwIP repo folder in SDK (applicable for SDK 2016.4 version only)
Xilinx Tools --> Repositories --> New --> (browse to repo folder path) --> Apply --> OK

- Make the below changes in "Modify BSP settings" (applicable for SDK 2016.4 version only)
Overview --> LwIP141 version --> 1.8 (dropdown)
Overview --> drivers --> emacps (psu_ethernet0) --> 3.4 (dropdown)

"

In my 2016.4 SDK I only see LwIP 141 1.7 as an option

Thanks,

Adam

I am not sure whether LwIP141 v1.8 has been released, but the latest version which seems to be v1.7 can be found on github via this link:

https://github.com/Xilinx/embeddedsw/tree/master/ThirdParty/sw_services/lwip141

In the wiki page that you linked, the text refers to LwIP v1.8 but the screenshot displayed on the same wiki page shows LwIP v1.7. Is there a particular reason other than the text on the wiki page that you were looking for v1.8?

Thanks!

I was just trying to use 1.8 in order to be consistent with the text in the wiki. I am able to build the lwip using 1.7 without any errors though.

The wiki mentions

"On top of this this FSBL create empty application and import iperf source code in it."

and

"- Once the LWIP configuration is done, we need to add plain application in above created BSP.
After adding this application, we need to import iperf(for A53/R5) in this empty folder."

Can you give me advice on how to import the iperf source? Is there a xilinx repo with the iperf source code in it?

Thanks,

Adam
