Jump to solution

hello,

what's the difference between component primitives and native primitives?

Does each primitive corresponds to the real hardware logic?

I've been confused on this for a long time. Thanks!

Native Mode = RX_BITSLICE, TX_BITSLICE. BITSLICE_CONTROL and you should use the High Speed Selectio Wizard for your design entry.

Component Mode = ISERDES, OSERDES, IDDR, ODDR, IDELAY, ODELAY, IDELAYCTRL and you use RTL as you design entry method.

The ISERDES+ IDELAY has a similiar functionality as the RX_BITSLICE, in that you capture serial data and output a parallel bus but how its implemented is different in the FPGA so the Native Mode has higher performance.

Thanks,
Sandy
