Jump to solution

Hello!
I have a question about alpha-channel work in Video Frame Buffer Read v2.1. How is it work? What is it doing?
What happened, if a select RGBA8 mode and write in pixed A field? Is it become transparency? But what will be background color?
I can not find where I can set background color or layout.
Thank you, and sorry. English is not my first language.

HI @oleggavrilchenko

It really depends from which point of view you are talking about.

If you are generating an image from your linux OS, then it really depends on how the utility which will generate the image will deal with the alpha component. The utilities are not managed by Xilinx so you might want to ask the linux community for this.

From a Xilinx perspective, this could be used on the display side if you are using a Video Mixer. But in that case, you define the different video layers so you will know what will be your background.

But you are right on the fact that A defines the transparency.
