Ummm -- does the camera lens have some kind of focus mechanism?

Is your integration time 'long' and you're holding the camera in your hand?

Then think like a photographer. When you handhold a camera, how do you avoid shake? Answer: shorter exposure times.

Is this a camera module you have designed or bought in?  If you have blur, then it's either shake (as another poster pointed out) or actual focussing, both of which really have to be fixed physically if you want to do more image processing on the picture.

One thought - if it is a "C-mount" lens mount, have you fitted a "CS-mount" lens (or vice versa)?  They both screw into the same threads, but have a focal distance differing by 5mm or so.  You can get adapter rings to sort this out one way, or remove the existing adaptor ring if you have one already.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C_mount

Cheers,

Martin
