Can Ultrascale+ MPSoc encode different resolution streams with one video in simultaneously?

Jump to solution

Hello! I want to know if can I use Ultrascale EV to encode one video to three different resolution h265 streams simultaneously? For example, the video input is 4K, I want to get 4K@60fps, 1080P@30fps and 640x480@30fps simultaneously. Can I realize this with Xilinx MPSoc? It will helps me a lot.

Thanks for any answer.

[Florent] - Yes you can encode up to 8 different stream simultaneously if the total of the streams is in the 4K60 bandwidth

For example, the video input is 4K, I want to get 4K@60fps, 1080P@30fps and 640x480@30fps simultaneously. Can I realize this with Xilinx MPSoc?

[Florent] - So no this case is not possible because your total BW will be over 4K60. However you could do 4K@30 + 1080p30 + 640x480@30

It will helps me a lot.

Thanks for any answer.

In summary: The Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC VCU can encode up to 8 simulataneous video stream as long as the total bandwidth for all the streams is in 4K@60.

But in the VCU ipcore, the minimum supported resolution is 1280x720, so we cant encode in 640x480. Am I right?

Hi @elahi,

1. Please do not post on someone else's topic. Please create a new topic when you have a question

2. Yes you can encode 640x480 streams

3. I am closing this topic as it is already solved.

Regards
