Display Port HotPlug Detect

Jump to solution

Hello, I am looking over the schematics for the ZCU-104 Eval Board and and I have a question about the Display Port on page 34. I would like to know why the Hot Plug Detect is connected to a TVS diode?

I don't claim to a hardware guru that's why I ask the experts.

Thank you,

Joe

Hi @joe306

If MAX13035E voltage translator has an enough tolerance (It can prevent +-15kV ESD on VCC), you don't need TVS.

Best regards,

Hello, thank you for responding to my message. I got it! How about page 37 on the SD Card. We don't use a TVS because there is a translator, is that right?

Thank you,

Joe
