Grayscale TPG

Jump to solution

I was wondering if it is possible to transform the TPG from Florentw's video series tutorial to grayscale...i.e. only 8 bits per pixel to indicate intensity instead of rbg_8. I am struggling to understand how this would work.

Thanks!

Hi @apierp

The solution from @drjohnsmith is the correct one. But the Xilinx TPG IP can be used directly in YUV (instead of RGB). So no need to convert. Only configure it in YUV and take the 8 bits lSB

convert RGB to Luma / chroma, and only take the Luma.
