Irregular resolution of HDMI IP

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have a question about HDMI IP(TX/RX) of Xilinx.
Can this IP process an irregular resolution video
signal(for example, 3840x1080, 1920x720etc.)?
I understand this question is too vague, so even
uncertain comments are welcome.

Thank you,

Hello @zenic5o ,

HDMI Supports resolutions up to 4,096 x 2,160 @60 fps with RGB 8-bit, YCbCr 4:2:2 at 12- bits per component. So, the custom resolutions bandwidth should not overcome this bandwidth limit. For a custom resolution the customer need to update the timing table of the resolution. So, Could you please refer AR#68227. This Answer Record addressing the process of updating the timing table of the custom resolutions in software drivers.

I hope it helps to You.

With Regards,

Ashok

Hello,

Currently, vertical frequency is not fixed exactly, but under 60Hz.

Thank you,

Hello @zenic5o

Just some comment.
Perhaps adding custom resolution in API can help.
