LogiCORE IP Video PHY Controller v2.2 question

PG230 (December 5, 2018) indicates on page 5 that 

<quote>

The Video PHY Controller does not support standalone usage.

</quote>

Is there any possible way to use this with a non-Xilinx DisplayPort Link Layer controller? What feature support is missing in the IP, that is preventing its use along with an external (non-Xilinx) Link Layer controller?

Hi @ramanar,

 

The Video PHY Controller was developed specifically to work with either the Xilinx DisplayPort IP or the HDMI IP.

This means that interface and control are specific to these IPs and because this is not supported in a standalone usage, we do not document the PHY controller to the level needed to interface to another IP.
