Unsupport feature for DisplayPort Rx Subsystem v2.1 PG233

Jump to solution

Hi all

I'm investigating DisplayPort Rx Subsystem (PG233 Ver. 2.1) now.

According to this pdf file, DP Rx doesn't support "Video AXI4-Stream interface is not scalable with dynamic pixel mode selection".

However, I already examined DP Rx with example design which behaived like dynamic pixel mode selection and this resule was fine.

So, I'm confused.

What does it mean "Video AXI4-Stream interface is not scalable with dynamic pixel mode selection" ?

Does it point out that AXI4-Stream can not change color format ? (RGB888, YUV422, YUV444 and so on) ???

Could anyone tell me it ?

Hi @watari,

Displayport SS IP is changing the pixel per clock depending on how many lanes are trained. There is nothing in the UG934 that defines. The user is expected to do a pixel remapper.

In the example design you will not see any issue because this is a pass-through. You do not really care about the AXI4 data. But you would have issue if you are using another IP as the VPSS.

I believe this is what is meant by this line.

Hi @florentw

Thank you for your explanation.

Got it.

We will consider the structure of pixel remapper for our requirement.
