Using DisplayPort ip V7.0 receiver + SN75DP130 link training part of failure

hi 

Different graphic card output dp source signal,through DP130(not DP159) to DisplayPort ip(v7.0):

Intel hd4000:link rate 2.7/1.62Gbps link training sucess 

 

nVIDIA gtx750:link rate 2.7Gbps clock recovery failure,1.62Gbps link training sucess 

 

AMD firepro v3800:link rate 2.7Gbps clock recovery failure, 1 lane 1.62Gbps clock recovery sucess,but link training failure 

 

please tell me why?

The official recommended DP159,DP159 output signal quality better than DP130?

Hi @haidoph,

 

Xilinx supports only DP RX IP with a DP159 retimer.

 

The DP130 is used as redriver for the DP TX IP.

As @florentw already mentioned, the purpose is different between DP130 and DP159.

What you want to do ?

 

If you want to improve signal quality with ex. pre-amble at GPU's DP Tx, I suggest to use DP130.

However, your ends seems how to receive correctly DP signal and recover clock and data.

 

So, in this case you must use DP159 as retimer.

 

Also, I know DP IP V7.0 is obsolete and there is some bugs.

I suggest to upgrade DP Rx IP to VPPS based IP (PG233).
