Video_frame_crc IP locked when upgrading from 2018.1 to 2018.3

Jump to solution

I have a working design for a Kintex-7 325T using Vivado 2018.1 and want to try the upgraded IPs by upgrading my project to use Vivado/SDK 2018.3.   When I load it in Vivado 2018.3 I run report IP status and do successfuly upgrade all but 1 IP which is the vivdeo_frame_crc block which was used in the HDMI TX example design I started this project from.

This video_frame_crc is locked and I get the following error when I try and validate the design:

video_frame_crc_error.png

I tried unchecking the is_locked property but that didn't seem to help either.

Can anybody please help me get this IP unlocked so I can implement my design in 2018.3?

Thanks.

Tim

Hi @tim_severance,

Happy new year 2019!

Note that the video_framce_crc is a helper core and it is only officially supported in the example design. The user is expected to write its own IP.

You might want to generate the new version of the example design in 2018.3, this way you will have the latest version of the IP. With all the caution about support mentioned previously.

Some more info.....

When I run Report IP Status I get the following:

video_frame_crc_error2.png

And if I click on "IP revision change" I get the following:

video_frame_crc_error3.png

@florentw,

Thank you for the response.   I actually moved forward removing the block from

the design and it worked fine without it.   Happy new year to you to!
