Vitis 2020.1 HDMI IP: Command failed: This design contains one or more cells for which bitstream generation is not permitted

Jump to solution

hello:

i buy zcu104 evaluation board and apply license from xilinx web.  i compiled Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC VCU TRD 2020.1 on the link https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/504398119/Zynq+UltraScale+MPSoC+VCU+TRD+2020.1+-+Run+and+Build+Flow#3.1-Hardware-Design.

i am getting a msg:

[Common 17-69] Command failed: This design contains one or more cells for which bitstream generation is not permitted:
bd_i/hdmi_output/v_hdmi_tx_ss_0/inst/v_hdmi_tx/inst (<encrypted cellview>)
bd_i/hdmi_input/v_hdmi_rx_ss_0/inst/v_hdmi_rx/inst (<encrypted cellview>)
If a new IP Core license was added, in order for the new license to be picked up, the current netlist needs to be updated by resetting and re-generating the IP output products before bitstream generation.

now i want to know whether i operate error with license file or applied lisence is not support the ip core.

Please let me know how can I solve this problem.

HI @caiwey

Do you have any update on this? Were you able to have the license recognized?

HI @caiwey

  1. Could you open Vivado License Manager (VLM) and check that you have a line corresponding to the HDMI license
  2. Then on this line in VLM, check that the column Host ID match is Yes and that CRC is OK

If the above are OK:

  1. Try to reset the Block Design output product (right click on the BD in the source window > reset output product) and regenerate them

If this is still not working, try to change the license to another directory. I would advise to use C:/licenses if under windows and then point to this folder in VLM.
