zc702 display graphics over hdmi

Jump to solution

Hello, I am working on a project with the zc702 board and I also have this hdmi touchscreen monitor: https://www.adafruit.com/product/2110

I want to output a UI on the screen and have a touchscreen interface that basically has buttons to interact with and display data.

I have read a lot of information about it already but am having trouble finding exactly what it is that I need to read or look at in order to get this figured out.

Any information you can give me to get this going will be helpful.

thank you for your time,

elliottal

Hi @elliottal

Here is my suggestion to you.

- Build linux kernel to control this touchscreen. (Because of interface is "HID Mouse")

- Implement or prepare HDMI Tx to connect with this touchscreen.

- Add X-Window, Qt and so on into rootfs for Linux. (You can control your application with this touchscreen)

Hi @elliottal,

Do you have any updates on this? Was the reply from @watari enough for you?

Yes, it definitely got my going in the right direction. Using his suggestions I was able to find this tutorial from analog devices: https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/linux-drivers/platforms/zynq and the reference design for the ADV7511 that is associated with that tutorial here: https://wiki.analog.com/resources/fpga/xilinx/kc705/adv7511#using_the_software_reference_design . I have also found this link,  https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/59172.html which I am using to help install QT when i get to that step of the process.

Thank you for checking up on me,
