3G-SDI on Zynq UltraScale+ with PS-GTR

Jump to solution

We would like to process a video stream via 3G-SDI. Our board features an XCZU3EG in an SFVC784 package. Unfortunately the only high speed pins that are accessible are the PS-GTR pins. From our unterstanding the PS-GTR supports SATA, USB3 etc.

The main question is, is it possible to implement (3G/HD-)SDI with PS-GTR and if so how?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings,

From Chapter 29 of the MPSoc Technical Reference Manual:

This looks pretty much impossible, given the hardware connections shown.    Your best bet will be to use an external Serdes to convert the 3G-SDI into a parallel LVDS stream which can be captured on the ordinary FPGA IO pins.
