@vyudovich which device are you targeting?
For example all the way back in Spartan-6 there was a display_port IO standard that let you interface the AuX channels.
In this case this was a 2.5V/3.3V bi-directional differential signalling interface. My understanding was that this was a very slow link.
maybe look at the device you were looking to interface with.
Also look at the IP guides for this

FPGA IO-STD used for the half duplex differential AUX channel is LVDS.
you can always generate an example design of a Display port subsystem for KC705 and check for any implementation details like this.
