Mipi demultplexer?

hi,

I want to demux the Mipi signal

I want to bypass only one of several cameras (Mipi signals).

Hello @mskim 

1. If you do not have any plan to do video data processing on the FPGA you can use MIPI D-PHY RX/TX IP, otherwise you will need to use MIPI CSI-2 RX Subsystem /TX Subsystem instead.

2. Please notice that Xilinx MIPI IPs do not support link turn-around.
( RX will only receives data, TX will only transmits, no reverse data communication )

3. You need to create a custom logic to select PPI signal from MIPI RX to MIPI TX.

4. Please use US+ device since this device I/O can natively support MIPI D-PHY.


5. Please use Vivado 2018.3 ( or later version) , since MIPI CSI-2 TX and MIPI CSI-2 RX has similar data interface start from 2018.3.

It is said to be in the middle (PPI MUX).

HI @mskim ,

The PPI multiplexer is just a multiplexer you have to design yourself.

PPI just mean PHY-Protocol Interface. This is just how the interface of the phy is called

Hello @mskim 

Pardon me. I found that MIPI D-PHY RX cannot be connected to MIPI D-PHY TX directly.
See picture below. The ports in red-square cannot be connected directly.
-- We are going to add a feature to make MIPI D-PHY RX--> TX pass-through connection in the future.
    But it is not available for now.

For current IP version. suggest to to use VDMA to connect MIPI CSI-2 RX to MIPI CSI-2 TX.
MIPI Example design mentioned in PG232 Chapter5 may give you a better picture of the system connectivity.
