RGB to HSV and Back

Jump to solution

Hello!

I want to convert RGB into HSV and back for some image processing application. Before writing any code for it, I just wanted to know if there's any simple way to do it. Also, I will need the Xilinx Image Statistics IP which has been discontinued. Is there any way to retrieve it back or some other hack, please let me know.

Thank you!

Best Regards,
Urvish

Hi urvish@htic,

It was discontinued because there was not enough business to keep maintaining this IP.

You might want to try to write your own using vivado HLS, starting from C/C++.

Hello urvish@htic

You will need to use older Vivado to use this IP.

But it is not recommended since this is discontinoued IP, and no technical support for this IP.

But I think RGB-to-HSV color conversion module should not be so complicated to create

Thanks & regards

Dear @karnanl,

Thank you for your assistance. But can you please tell me why did they discontinue such an IP. And that I want to write a  RGB to HSV module in VHDL which is compliant to AXI4S Standards.

Dear @florentw,
I really enjoy reading your answers and admire your expertise! I've already started writing this RGB2HSV IP, but can I write Image Statistics IP?

Hi urvish@htic,

Thanks. Glad to know that I am helpful for the community ;)

Yes you should also be able to write the image statistic IP. You will have one input stream and maybe store the result in a register space.

You might want to ask on the Vivado HLS board if you have some question on how to write this.
