I'm using the VCU in a custom board (zynq U+ 7EV). We've been using extensively the ZCU106 board to set up our embedded software as well as our PS/PL design correctly.
On our board, we try to perform the SDI Rx/Tx pass-through example. It fails (linux hangs) 2-3 seconds after it starts.
The PL instance of the VCU is the same as the ZCU106. I was wondering if there is any setting I should focus on the PS configuration?
Thanks for your help.

@sebothanks for your posting your question. We will need some additional in order to debug this.
Based on your description this doesn't appear to be VCU issue, but rather SDI Rx directly to SDI Tx. Can you confirm that this is correct?
It would be helpful if you could provide the following:
Also it sounds like you also tested this on the ZCU106 board, but it wasn't completely clear what kinds of results you were seeing on the ZCU106. If you can clarify this as well, it would be useful.

Our custom project is based on vcu trd example but we encouter issues when using the VCU:
We also observe a strange issue on a modified bitstream ==> al5e 80100000.al5e: Mcu didn't start (no ping after startup, is mcu enabled ?). The bitstream modifications didn't concern the VCU
Our Vivado release is 2018.2. All our software are build into Yocto. We don't use peta-linux
On the zcu106 we are able to perform a HDSDI capture, encode it and stream it with no issues
