ZCU104 Audio

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have got to process audio input for use by voice recognition on ZCU104 Eval kit. Found no trace how to do it. Any suggestions?

Hi @swig,

You will need to start by inputting the audio data in the PL. Then once you know how to do that you can focus on your processing.

Hi Florent,

I am happy to hear there is a way forward. However, explain the PL abbreviation please.

HI @swig,

PL means Programmable Logic. This is the "FPGA" part of the ZynqUS+ device

I see, thanks. Can you refer me to existing documentation to make it work?

Another question is about the hardware. For example, for ZCU102 you can plug in XA3 audio module, using SYSMON header. How about ZCU104, there is no such header for XA3. What options do I have in order to feed audio data from microphone to the board?

Thank you, Libor

Hi @swig,

You should be able to use something like this:

https://store.digilentinc.com/pmod-i2s2-stereo-audio-input-and-output/

Hi,

Just to make sure I am on the right track.

- Pmod I2S2 fits into ZCU104 PMOD GPIO Connectors (headers J55).

- Apply implementation of Inter-IC-Sound (I2S) interface for sound PCM, like it is suggested below:

https://www.xilinx.com/products/intellectual-property/audio-i2s.html

Please confirm I've got it. Thanks a lot for guidance.

Re: ZCU104 Audio

Hi,

let me reopen the discussion because I failed to made the Pmod I2S2 work with ZCU104. The product guide for I2S2 (LogiCORE IP Product Guide) looks promising but it is too general for me to follow and get the results. I must admit I am no Vivado guru. I just need a reliable step-by-step guidance. Digilent, on the other side, provides sample projects for the Pmod adapter but only for their own boards.
I assume I need some kind of driver level as well. Can you put me back on track?
