ZCU104 USB3 Camera Hardware Design

Jump to solution

Hello, the TRD for the ZCU104 comes with a design that integrates the e-con Systems 3.4 MP USB 3.0 Camera. However, there is no way to tinker with the hardware, which appears to come in the format of .dsa file. I would like to do a simple feedthrough design where I process incoming image data from USB3.0 camera and pass it out through HDMI. I am struggling to find cores that can process the USB3.0 camera input.

Does anyone know where I could start?

HI @johnfrye11,

For the ZCU104, you are expected to follow:

HI @johnfrye11,

You should be able to rebuild the design from the TRD. Let me know if you cannot find it.

My hope was to adapt the hardware that was included in the TRD. Is this possible? I know in a lot of the Digilent TRDs, you can build the Vivado project and use it as a jumping off point for other designs. This design simply has a file /hw/zcu104_rv_ss.dsa . Not sure how you can see/use the hardware design rather than to simply build software around it.

I simply would like to know if you can open the hardware that comes with this project in Vivado then change it. There is no directive in the provided workflow for doing so, but I would like to know if it is possible. Thanks

HI @johnfrye11,

Yes it is possible to open the DSA and recreate a new one from it.

It is not written how to do that in the tutorial because this is not the goal of the tutorial. It expects you do use the provided dsa

I meant to delete my last post. The issue is addressed in the documentation you provided in the second link in the answer I marked as correct
